Out of Ashes House

As we raise money towards the Out of Ashes house, amid new ideas and possibilities of how it could be used, the main thing our team keeps telling each other is, "Remember, it's not a hotel. It's not an event space. It's a home." We aren't trying to build a place where cool events can happen (though we hope some will). We're building a home for the outcast, the wanderer, the neglected, tired, and hurt. At the Out of Ashes House, our hope is that those who society has rejected can find acceptance, those who have been wounded can find healing, and those who are weary can finally find rest.

As followers of Jesus, we believe that every person is created in the image of God, with inherent worth, and are loved by their Creator. We believe that the people of God form a family, and we want this house to be a place where that family can come together in unity, rather than uniformity, and care for those for whom Jesus gave His life. We want this house to be a place of abundant mercy and grace, restorative justice, and quick forgiveness -- a place that is truly a family, where refuge can be found amid the broken, the messy, and the heart wrenching, and where people are free to truly be themselves.

We are currently in the process of fundraising to purchase a building in ValMez that we can use as a respite space for Christian workers in need of rest, or on the verge of burnout. In addition, we hope this house can be an outreach hub for the Czech Republic and beyond. Right now, we don't have a specific house in mind, but we are working towards raising funds we need to purchase and remodel a usable space.

We're excited to be able to purchase a building as soon as possible so that we can get to work creating a family space to shelter the weary and neglected, for the good of ValMez, the Czech Republic and beyond.

We've raised over 25% of our $400,000 goal for the purchase and rebuilding of the Out of Ashes house. We continue to move forward, and seek out new opportunities to partner with churches and individuals towards this goal. Our Core Activites

The Out of Ashes house is meant to be a lighthouse amid stormy seas, or a fortress in the midst of enemy armies. To achieve that purpose, it must be a place with a foundation that does not waver, and a light that does not burn out. Our core activities take place regardless of what other events, guests, or circumstances of life enter our house. Our goal isn't to be spectacular, but simple, constant, and sure, no matter what life throws at us.

Respite & Refuge for the Weary

Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). The Out of Ashes house provides a place of shelter and respite for Czech and European Christian workers who are weary or on the verge of burnout, the hurting people in our community, and youth and women at-risk. While our doors are not closed to anyone, we focus on these three groups and prioritize applications for respite stay for these demographics.

If you're interested in respite for you, your family, or your team, or are in need of a place to go during a crisis situation, fill out the form below, or contact us directly at info@nadejezpopela.com. One of our team will get back to you as soon as possible.

If this is an urgent emergency situation, please contact the relevant authorities.

A Place to Make a difference

We exist to serve our community, and that means lifting others up. Our desire isn't to have the spotlight, but rather to give others a platform for programs, events, seminars, and more, that promote the guiding principles of the Out of Ashes house. We are looking for events which:

1. Lift up those society doesn't.
2. Foster unity within the Family of God.
3. Focus on the development of individuals.
4. Contribute to providing rest and shelter for those who are hurting.
5. Are connected to our core activities. (above)

If you're interested in utilizing the Out of Ashes house for such an activity, please fill out the application form below. One of our team members will review the form, and get back to you as soon as possible.
